Yuyen Chang
was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1972.
She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from University of
Wisconsin-Madison in 2002.
Chang has received numerous grants and awards, including the
Art Jewelry Forum's 2003 Emerging
Artist Award, Society of North American Goldsmith Educational
Endowment, UW Haystack Fellowship, Vilas graduate Fellowship,
SNAG Minority Outreach High School Workshop Grant.
Chang’s work has been exhibited nationally, including: SOFA
Chicago, SOFA New York, Aaron Faber Gallery in New York, Velvet
da Vinci in San Francisco, Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in
Louisville, Kentucky, Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts
in Wilmington, Delaware; Portal
Wisconsin On-line Gallery, and Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan,
Wisconsin.
Her work was featured in Metalsmith Magazine “Exhibition
In Print" 2002 and "Observations",
Spring 2003, as well as various publications featuring contemporary
metalwork. Chang is currently a lecturer at University of Wisconsin
- Madison.
